Gardening and Math :

People who garden use math to create gardens that are both beautiful and functional. When creating a garden that people can also sit in requires a person to map out the space and figure out how many plants and flowers will be able to grow in the space. This can take some time because research will have to be done so that people will know which plants can be placed next to each other and which plants need their own space. Choosing colors and placing younger plants next to older plants is also a consideration. Once the plants and flowers have been chosen, they will need to be planted. Leaving room for chairs and tables is necessary and should not be forgotten.
Math is used to create a space that is inviting and colorful. The garden should be a place where people can sit and read or where they can go to talk. The garden will have to be trimmed and pruned each day to keep weeds from invading. Time management will play a role in a successful garden. Being able to devote enough time to it each day will require some basic math skills. People will have to find time to water the garden, check on plants, and make sure that they are getting enough sun during the day. Many plants do not require much sun, but they will still need some. Placement of plants and flowers will have them survive and have a longer life span. A good garden should last for many years.
